Author School Visits

July 14th, 2011

Hi Everybody,

I hope you are all having a super summer!  I have gotten mail from lots of you lately asking if I visit schools and the answer to that is yes.  One of the best parts about being an author is that I get to visit a lot of schools. I love meeting kids from all over the country and talking about the characters I’ve created and what it’s like to be an author. If you think your school might be interested in having me, here’s some important information that you can pass along to your librarian or principal.

Grades: 1 – 6
Length of presentation: 40 to 60 minutes depending on your school’s schedule and the age group of the audience.
Audience Size: Presentations can be tailored to accommodate small, medium-sized or large groups, including classrooms of 25-40 students, groups of several grades/several hundred children, and entire schools with groups as large as 900.
Schedule: Up to 3 presentations in a day plus lunch with students.
Contact: To schedule a speaking engagement, contact Susan Cohen of the Gersh Agency.
Phone: 901-754-5276
Email: scohen@gershny.com

I hope one day I’ll get to come to your school!

Talk to you soon!

Red, White, and True Blue Mallory

July 6th, 2011

Hi Everybody,

I hope you all had a great 4th of July holiday!  I know I did.  I love watching fireworks and I love all the red, white and blue.  If you’re still in a patriotic mood, check out Red, White, and True Blue Mallory.  It is the story of Mallory’s class trip to our nation’s capitol, Washington D.C.   I went to Washington with my class when I was in 4th grade and a lot of the things that happen to Mallory in the book happened to me when I was there.

Have fun reading!
