Celebrate the New Year!

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Hi Everybody,

If you’re looking for fun ways to ring in the new year, I have some ideas for you.

If you like to read, pick up a copy of Happy New Year, Mallory!  I hope you’ll have as much fun celebrating the holidays as she did.

If you like to bake, here’s something fun and super easy you can make.

CONFETTI COOKIES AND BROWNIES

What you’ll need:  Pre-packaged brownie and sugar cookie dough, assorted sprinkles.

What to do:  It’s simple.  Just prepare the dough according to the directions on the package.  Decorate your cookies and brownies with lots of different colored sprinkles.  Bake according to directions on package.  (Remember to ask a grownup for help whenever you’re using the oven.) When you’re brownies and cookies are cool, serve them to all of your friends and wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I wish all of you a very Happy New Year too!

Talk to you next year!

Happy Holidays!

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Hi Everybody,

It’s holiday time.  School is out and I hope you’re all getting ready to have lots of fun!  I love the holidays and starting a new year.  And so does Mallory.  I hope you’ll all send some time over the break reading the latest book in the Mallory series, Happy New Year, Mallory!  I don’t want to give away too much, but I will tell you this: Something unexpected happens that almost messes up Mallory’s holiday plans.  I hope you’ll read the book to find out what that something is!

Happy New Year, Mallory!

Thanks too for all of you who have written in, especially Samantha, Caroline, Eva, Emma (and her sister, Avery), Victoria, Teena, Mallory, Hannah and Brenna.  I’m so glad you all like reading about Mallory.

Teena asked if Mallory books are only in libraries or if they are sold in bookstores too.  The good news is that you can get them in both places.  If you go to any bookstore and they are out of a particular book, just tell them what you want and they can order it for you.

I hope you all have happy, happy holidays!

Talk to you soon!
