Hi Everybody!
I hope you’re all having a super summer. Unfortunately, it is quickly coming to an end. It is almost time to start back to school shopping.
I think certain back-to-school items are a lot of fun to buy . . . like notebooks and backpacks and shoes. What are your favorites? Mallory definitely likes shoes (and if you’re wondering what I mean, be sure to read all about it in Step Fourth, Mallory!)
I’d love to hear from all of you. Write in and tell me which back-to-school items you are excited about!
Talk to you soon!

Hi, it’s Rachel, and I wanted to make a suggestion. Have you ever read the baby-Sitters Club books? If so, have you heard of Ann M. Martin’s kinda off-series of it for younger readers called th Baby-Sitter’s Little sister? It involves the same characters, but it’s about Karen, Kristy’s little sister. I thought it would be cool if you could do something like that and make an off-series about Winnie for older readers. It could be narrated by Winnie, and be about her, to kinda show she’s not as mean as you think she is. Something I love about writing is that you know everything about the characters that you’ve created, even things that you don’t put in the books. Plus, if you do the series, it could anser the question that many readers are wondering: does Winnie like Max? I’m not going to leave Mallory any time soon, but it would be cool if you had a Winnie series for older readers.
More love from your biggest 13-year-old fan,
Rachel the way-cool 7th grader

Hi Kylie,
Thanks for writing! I’m so glad you like the books. I’m not sure which book you’ve read, but in Campfire Mallory, Mary Ann does move to Wish Pond Road. She’s there in the latest book, Step Fourth Mallory, as well.
I hope you’ll keep reading!

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for writing. You sound like a way-cool 7th grader. A lot of readers have asked if I’m going to write a series about Winnie and I’m giving it a lot of thought. Everyone wants to know if she likes Max! If I write about her, that would definitely be a big part of the books.
I hope you’ll keep reading. Have a great school year!
Laurie
