What’s next?

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Hi Everybody!

I hope you all had a super Thanksgiving!

As an author of a series, the question that everyone always seems to ask me is . . . what’s next?  So for all of you who’ve asked me what’s next for Mallory, here’s your answer.

Campfire Mallory is book #9 in the Mallory series and it’s available after the first of the year at your local book store, library, or favorite on-line retailer.

In Campfire Mallory, Mallory and the rest of the Wish Pond Road gang head off to Camp Blue Lake for some summer fun.  Everyone around her is super excited to go, but Mallory isn’t so sure she’s ready.  Will she find a way to be a happy camper?

I can’t tell you! You have to read the book if you want to find out!  I hope you all will and I hope you enjoy it.

Here’s a picture of the cover!

Keep reading and happy holidays!

Talk to you soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

Hi Everybody!

One of the yummiest holidays of the year is almost here and I can’t wait!  I love Thanksgiving!  My family always has turkey and all the trimmings, but we have a special dessert called Hot Fudge Pie that is my favorite part of the day.   Here’s the recipe:

Hot Fudge Pie

Ingredients:  3  1 ounce squares of unsweetened chocolate,  1/2  cup of butter,  1/4  cup of flour, pinch of salt, 1/4  teaspoon of vanilla, 3  eggs, 1 1/4  cups of sugar.

Directions:  In a microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate and butter.  When melted, add the sugar, flour, and salt.  In a separate bowl,  beat the eggs.  Add the eggs to the chocolate mixture.  Add vanilla.  Put into a greased pie plate and bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

You can serve it with vanilla ice cream, strawberries, and hot fudge (if you really like chocolate, which I do)!  I hope you like the pie.  It’s easy to make (and even easier to eat)!

Happy Thanksgiving!

One great week . . .Two great schools!

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Hi Everybody!

I hope you had a great week!  I did because I got to visit two great schools.  As part of the Miami Book Fair,  I visited Village Green Elementary and Wesley Matthews Elementary.  I met so many great kids plus their wonderful teachers and media specialists.  We talked about books and writing (two of my favorite subjects) and they asked lots of fantastic questions.   One of the best parts of the day for me was seeing the beautiful signs both schools made to welcome me and reading all of the cards and letters from the students.  To all of you at both schools, here’s a big THANK YOU!  I hope you had as much fun as I did.

And as they say . . . a picture is worth a thousand words, so here goes!

That’s it for now.

Talk to you soon!
