Who’s ready for school?

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Hi Everybody?

Who’s ready for school?  I know, there’s still a little bit of summer left, but we’re getting close.  It’s always hard going back after a few months of fun in the sun, but parts of it are exciting too . . . like getting new school supplies and finding out who is in your class.

For me, back-to-school is a very exciting time because I get to visit lots of schools.  You’re probably thinking that the reason I like going to school is because I don’t have to do any homework.  That’s true, but the real reason I like going is because I get to hear what kids like you have to say about what I write and what they’re writing.

At every school I go to, I meet lots of young writers, and I always tell them that I wrote my first book (and I still have it in my desk drawer) when I was in third grade.  So if you think you want to be a writer when you grow up, now is a great time to start.

If you’d like to get information about me visiting your school, all you (or your teacher or librarian) have to do is click on the school visits link at the top of my blog or on my website.

If you’ve written in, thanks so much for your comments!  I’m thrilled to know how much you all like reading about Mallory.

Keep reading and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Talk to you soon!
