I’m back from the Target Book Festival in Detroit, and here to report that it was so much fun! There were lots of great authors and illustrators on hand, plus fun bands, like the Doodlebops. The best part of the day for me was meeting all the great kids and their parents who came out on what started as a rainy day and ended up bright and sunny. I was so happy to meet so many Mallory fans. One fan told me a great joke that I want to share with you.
Why was 6 afraid of 7?
The answer: Because he heard 7 8 9.
I hope you liked that as much as I did!
Talk to you soon!
Fall is always an exciting time of year for me because it means I get to go to lots of schools and book fairs to speak to kids about my favorite topic . . . books!
My first stop this fall will be Detroit. If any of you live in the Detroit area, I will be speaking this coming Saturday, August 25, at the Target Children’s Book Fair. The fair is at Kensington Metropark in Milford/Brighton from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. I will be reading and signing books at 3 p.m. There will be lots of great authors, illustrators, stage shows, things to do, and of course, lots of yummy things to eat.

I hope to see some of you there!
Talk to you (and maybe see you) soon!
